Dorian is not my little baby anymore. We had his 18 Mon. check up today, he has stayed the same weight at 28 lbs, and he has grown over an inch measuring 33 1/4 inches tall. The doctor said the next couple of years is the time toddlers grow in length and shed some of their baby chub. And he is always running so it didn't surprise me too much. I was just so used to him putting on a couple of pounds in all his past check ups. Some time this week we're going to get his 18 month pictures, including a new family picture, it's been six months since our last family pic, and he already looks a lot older than that one. We recently went and got Dorian his very own table and chair for the kitchen right next to our big one. In the past month he has really started to listen a lot better to direction, and the word "no", so we thought it was time. So far it's been pretty good. You can tell he is very proud of himself sitting there eating all by himself, which encourages him to eat well and get our praise=) Crib gone, high chair gone, next up...diapers!! No I'm not pushing that one, I've put the potty away because even though he gets the idea that he is supposed to go 'stinky' in it, I don't think he knows how to make it happen while sitting there. So we'll try again in a couple months.
It's fun watching him do new things but we're making sure to enjoy every second we have with him now. We're definitely not going to feel guilty in the future for not enjoying him as a baby and a toddler, we are obsessed!
